Dear Family of Mary!
“…My earthly life was simple. I loved and I rejoiced in small things….” (March 18, 2018)
Our Lady is such an example of living a simple and humble life. I have always associated her with Psalm 131. She is simple like a child. And she also is an example of a mother who quiets her child so beautifully. She is the Madonna. The Mother!!

O LORD, my heart is not lifted up,
my eyes are not raised too high;
I do not occupy myself with things
too great and too marvelous for me.
But I have calmed and quieted my soul,
like a child quieted at its mother’s breast;
like a child that is quieted is my soul.
O Israel, hope in the LORD
from this time forth and for evermore.

May we all be quieted in just this way, trusting in the Lord and trusting in the Mother. May we rejoice in the small things, the little things that God does for us every day, almost unnoticed, like the sunrise, the constancy of time, the silent growing of the trees and plants, the running waters, the gentle breezes, family love, friendship, hope, laughter, peace. Thank you Lord, for all your kindnesses to us. Draw us to yourself as little children, and keep us safe in your embrace.
